Senior Audit Associate – Construction Group (Scottsdale, AZ)

Job Description

Audit Senior participates on team engagements or projects for our construction and real estate group. This individual will supervise associate accountants, providing feedback and evaluating their progress; resolve accounting and auditing problems as they arise and will develop new client contacts and relationships beneficial to the firm. This individual will be responsible for knowing and understanding the Firm’s service approach, professional requirements and lines of business. As their ability to assume greater levels of responsibility is demonstrated, more complex technical areas may be assigned. Job Responsibilities – will include, but are not limited to:

  • Participates with a team on engagements or projects of clients (generally contractors and real estate developers/operators)
  • Exhibits a thorough understanding of generally accepted auditing standards and common audit procedures and techniques
  • Possesses technical knowledge sufficient to supervise associate auditors
  • Establishes quality client relationships and loyalty
  • Trains and mentors staff
  • Identifies and communicates accounting matters to supervisors, managers and partners
  • Provides excellent client service with timely communication
  • Identifies opportunities to provide additional services to existing clients

Education and Experience:

  • 3-5 years’ experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
  • CPA or CPA candidate
  • ProSystem fx and/or QuickBooks proficiency a plus

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Interest in construction and real estate accounting, tax and operational matters
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Self-motivated, dependable and reliable
  • Proven analytical and critical thinking skills
  • High proficiency in MS Excel
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Establishes strong relationships with executives, staff, clients, outside agencies, organizations and individuals
