Litigation+Valuation Manager (Scottsdale, AZ)

Job Description:

Litigation+Valuation Manager is responsible for the management of Analysts and Senior Analysts in the completion of business valuations, economic damages, and forensic accounting projects and reports.  This individual will be responsible for knowing and understanding the Firm’s service approach, professional requirements and lines of business; and will receive ongoing training in forensic, litigation, and valuation assignments.  This person will be involved in client/attorney contact which will require excellent communication skills. Job Responsibilities – will include, but are not limited to:

  • Participation with Director on litigation and valuation engagements of various clients including direct client/attorney contact and project management
  • Manage Analysts and Senior Analysts in the preparation of valuation model inputs, working papers and research for business and intangible asset valuation reports
  • Development of economic damages models regarding personal injury, wrongful death and wrongful termination of employment
  • Development of economic damages models and written reports on economic damages including lost profits and other forms of commercial/economic damages
  • Development of technical skills including a good understanding of basic and complex elements of financial models used, ability to perform research on all elements of assignment and perform most technical components of projects
  • Identifying and communicating with Director gaps in documentation, issues identified and potential solutions to issues identified during all phases of a project
  • Manage preparation by staff and ability to prepare complete narrative reports for both litigation and valuation projects for Director review
  • Establishing and maintaining working relationships with the Litigation+Valuation team including timely communication, participation in staff meetings, participation in client meetings and activities that enhance practice growth as determined by a Director

Education and Experience:

  • 5-8 years of experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance or related field; advanced degree preferred
  • Specialty credential preferred; e.g., CPA/ABV, CMA, CFE, ASA, CFA or CVA

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communications and organizational skills
  • Able to effectively handle multiple projects concurrently
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to effectively manage staff
  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients and attorneys
  • Participate in and understand the importance of marketing
  • Understand assignments and follows directions
  • High proficiency in MS Excel
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
