Senior Audit Associate – For Profit (Tempe, AZ)

Job Description:

Audit Senior participates on team engagements or projects of various clients. This individual will supervise associate accountants, providing feedback and evaluating their progress; resolve accounting and auditing problems as they arise and will develop new client contacts and relationships beneficial to the firm.  This individual will be responsible for knowing and understanding the Firm’s service approach, professional requirements and lines of business.  As their ability to assume greater levels of responsibility is demonstrated, more complex technical areas may be assigned.  This individual supports the Firm’s mission, vision and values by exhibiting the following behaviors:  excellence and competence, teamwork, collaboration, innovation, respect, personalization, commitment and accountability.

Job Responsibilities – will include, but are not limited to:

  • Participates with a team on engagements or projects of various clients
  • Exhibits a thorough understanding of generally accepted auditing standards and common audit procedures and techniques
  • Possesses technical knowledge sufficient to supervise associate auditors
  • Establishes quality client relationships and loyalty
  • Trains and mentors staff
  • Identifies and communicates accounting matters to supervisors, managers and partners
  • Provides excellent customer service with timely communication
  • Identifies opportunities to provide additional services to existing clients

Education and Experience:

  • 3-5 years’ experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
  • CPA or CPA candidate
  • Knowledge of current federal and state laws
  • ProSystem fx and/or QuickBooks proficiency a plus

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communications and organizational skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Proven analytical and critical thinking skills
  • High proficiency in MS Excel
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Establishes strong relationships with executives, staff, clients, outside agencies, organizations and individuals
