Steve Roark, CPA, leads Henry+Horne’s Research Tax Credit niche. With over 25 years of experience, Steve works with a variety of technology companies in the areas of engineering, software, manufacturing, electronics, life sciences, metals, plastics, systems and a whole host of technology-based fields. In his role as Director of Research and Development Tax Incentives, Steve will guide the Research + Development team to identify qualified activities and apply cost accounting techniques to support and quantify substantial federal and state research tax credit savings. Steve is also an expert at advising on cost segregation studies used in the real estate industry to accelerate tax savings and time value of money. Should an IRS or state controversy arise, the Henry+Horne team can specialize in assisting to resolve those tax positions taken in the most favorable manner possible, even when those positions were taken by others.

Steve graduated with a Bachelor’s in Management from Park University and a Master’s in Administration from Central Michigan University. He holds an active CPA license with the Washington State CPA Society and AICPA membership. He started working in the R & D field in 1994. He has worked with private business, governmental entities, contract law, ERP/accounting systems (e.g., Deltek, Spectrum®, Sage, Procore®, QuickBooks® and others), state, federal and local jurisdictions and leading technology firms across the country.

When he’s not working, you can find Steve enjoying time with family, riding bikes and exploring the great outdoors.

I’m actually only a few miles from where I grew up (doh!).

Billy Idol – it’s just such cheese. Yes I do…I love cheese.
