I want clients to know that we can help them achieve their goals through the work we do and how we communicate. We can work together to accomplish what needs to be done.

About Phillip

Phillip (Phil) McCollum, Jr. specializes in tax planning and consulting for privately held businesses and their owners. He’s known for his innate talent of connecting with clients, colleagues and team members on a personal level. He focuses his practice in the construction, real estate and technology industries. Phil enjoys helping people. He’s someone clients and colleagues feel comfortable talking to on either a personal or professional level and providing insight on what they can do to better their situation, whether that’s helping a less experienced team member through their first tax season or assisting a client with tax planning for their future.

“My goal is to help clients achieve solutions to their problems. What I have to offer is expertise in tax matters to help clients address a problem with an IRS matter or ways to reduce their income tax exposure. With a solid team supporting my leadership, we can achieve these goals in a practical, timely and efficient manner. That is our difference maker.”

Before joining Henry+Horne in 2015, Phil worked as a Tax Principal at a national CPA Firm in Phoenix and as Associate Legal Counsel at the Illinois Department of Revenue. He received his Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Northern Illinois University and his Juris Doctor from Valparaiso University School of Law.

Phil has three girls: Laura, Amber and Zoe. When he’s not working, you can find Phil spending time hiking, mountain bike riding and kickboxing. Phil is a Chicago White Sox and Chicago Bears fan, loves watching UFC events and when in college caddied for Michael Jordan.
