I’m passionate about governmental accounting. I’ve spent my whole professional career in government. I want to make sure that I am passing down any knowledge that I’ve obtained to the others I’m working with. I also want to make sure my clients are well-taken care of, satisfied and happy with the services I’m providing.
As head of the Government niche, Marilyn Mays specializes in auditing and consulting services. She uses her more than 25 years in the accounting industry to ensure that audits for her clients go as smoothly as possible. Marilyn focuses on educating her clients as well as maintaining open communication so that when questions come up throughout the year they know that they can call her.
Before joining Henry+Horne in 2002, Marilyn worked with the Finance Department of the City of Casa Grande for 12 years. That is where she gained extensive, hands-on experience with governmental finance, preparing annual financial reports, bank reconciliations and handling year-end closing and preparation for auditors.
Marilyn also worked as a Business Manager with Maine Consolidated School District in Parks, Arizona and is a former owner of a small construction business.
Outside of work, you can find Marilyn spending time with her family. A little known fact: she has a twin sister. One of her big dreams includes taking a cruise through the Panama Canal.
