My father was a banker who encouraged me from an early age to acquire a strong background in accounting if I wanted to go into the business world. As I pursued my studies in the accounting field, he gently explained to me that he did not actually expect me to become an accountant because the long hours and fee structure did not seem all that attractive.

About Debra

Twenty-five years later, Debra Callicutt brings together her extensive industry knowledge and decades of experience to consult with clients regarding their international operations such as setting up foreign subsidiaries, investing or selling overseas, sending employees overseas, reviewing treaties and more.

Debra focuses on learning each client’s specific needs and wants. She works to prioritize their worries and concerns and keep them on track with what needs to be accomplished in their compliance and future consulting needs. She also loves learning about new international tax laws that will help clients, or finding an answer in a treaty that will help clients take advantage of a tax credit or benefit.

Debra joined Henry+Horne in 1993 after working in the international tax department of several national accounting firms, which included an assignment that took her to Australia.

When Debra isn’t working, you can find her doing yoga, walking with her husband and their three dogs and attempting to learn bridge. Because of her specialty in international tax, it should come as no surprise that she loves to travel. She wants to become fluent in a foreign language, and if she could choose any super power, she would want to teleport all over the world to go scuba diving, hike mountains and visit family and friends in other countries.
