Henry+Horne’s October community service event took place on Sunday, October 23rd. If you were in Tempe you may have seen us in our green shirts along with hundreds of other people as we participated in the Autism Speaks Walk. This walk was either a 5k or 1 mile walk that took place Sunday morning starting at Tempe Beach Park. The 5k crossed the Mill Ave Bridge and then took a turn on E. Curry Rd. to Rural and then back on the Tempe Town Lake path. Together our team donated and walked approximately 99.5 miles to raise awareness.
Autism Speaks is the world’s leading autism science and advocacy organization. It was founded in February 2005 by Suzanne and Bob Wright. Since its inception, Autism Speaks has committed more than $570 million to its mission. It is dedicated to funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments and a cure for autism; increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and advocacy for the needs of individuals with autism and their families. They hold events in nearly 100 cities across North America as well, so if you’re not in Phoenix, but would like to participate, feel free to look them up!
Henry+Horne had a strong turnout for this event and we are proud to have participated. Come back mid-November to see what we did for our Annual Firm-wide community service event.
